Fall 2013 Program
Wekiva River Players will be offering four programs this fall for grades 1-12.
Disney's Sleeping Beauty, Kids
(Grades 1-3) Songs from the beloved film, including "Once Upon a Dream,"
accompany fun new songs like "Maleficent!" and "A Little Magic Now" to
bring a fresh telling of the story to a new generation of kids and
families.
Once on this Island, Jr.
(Grades 4-5) With its poignant story and catchy Caribbean flavored score this show
is a feast for the heart, mind, and soul. The highly original and
theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale The Little
Mermaid garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run,
including Best Musical, Book and Score.
Beauty and the Beast Jr.
(Grades 6-8) Step into an enchanted world featuring songs from the
Academy-Award winning animated feature, this stage version includes
music by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs
by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
Grease (School Edition)
No after-school rehearsals until tech week!
(Grades 9-12, Fall+Spring) Here is Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed,
hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking
"Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and
sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. An 8-year run on
Broadway and two subsequent revivals along with innumerable school and
community productions place Grease among the world's most popular
musicals. This abridged version is ideal for teens while retaining the
fun- loving spirit and immortal songs that make Grease.
Thank you!
Seminole Cultural Arts Council
